Casa Cultura invites you to a unique day of fun and awareness at
A T-SHIRT PRINTING WORKSHOP AND A CONVERSATION ON RESPECT
Led by Textile Designer Nataly Estay, you will learn the basic techniques for block printing. Then you will create and print your own design, and take your block home so you can print as many shirts as you want! We will supply all the materials required.
The workshop will support the 2017 Week Without Violence campaign, a global campaign to end violence against women. During the day, we will have a conversation on respect and collectively brainstorm and design a t-shirt for the Clothesline Project, a global initiative to raise awareness about family violence. Visual artist Katherine Gailer will collect everyone's ideas, execute the design and print a series of t-shirts, which everyone will take home.
At the end of the workshop, you will go home with the technical expertise to print, 2 printed t-shirts and your printing block so you can print more later.
Children over 8 years of age are welcome, but they need to be accompanied by a full paying adult.
Lunch will not be provided. We encourage everyone to bring something to share for when we break for lunch.
